Most Memorable Companions

Today we’re going to talk about companions. Each Doctor has had a companion that they have favored. Sometimes, more than one at a time. However, the concept of a companion as a thriving character is a fairly new concept. We’ll look at the newest Doctors’ companions starting with the most notable companion I think to date, Rose.

The companions of Doctor 9 and 10 were Rose, Mickey, Jack, Donna and Martha. However, the most notable and most favorable companion was Rose amongst 9 and 10. Jack came in a close second. From the character point of Rose, the companion angle then catapulted the plot line for the companions and the subsequent Doctors.

River Song was yet another notable companion in my opinion, challenging the Doctor in a similar way that Rose did. I felt as though she embodied Rose’s essence.

Amy and Clara were also similar in notably moving along the plot line. The merging of companions through one Doctor to the next has also helped to build the character of each companion and each Doctor.
